Put you Armor on- #1 Truth

Woke us this morning with anxious thoughts on my mind. The only way to get rid of them was to get up, get in the word and pray.I am so thankful to the Lord, for the comfort and strength that God's word brings to me.

This morning's battle reminded me that sometimes we forget that the struggles we face are more than physical, mental, or emotional; in reality they are spiritual. The physical relationships and situations we are experiencing are obvious to us; but it is the spiritual battle behind what we are going through that we are often unaware of. Our tendency is to try and fight the battle our way. God's word says:

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. There fore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm." Ephesians 6:10-13

God's word doesn't leave us out in the cold just telling us there is a battle. It also tells us how to fight the battle on the spiritual plane; instead of wasting our strength trying to fight the battle in a fleshly way. If we are clothed with God's equipment/armor, we will be able to stand during the battle and become more than conquerors through Christ Jesus our Lord.

"Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, whit which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, wit all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints." Ephesians 6:14-18

Truth! That is the first piece of armor that you need to have to battle against fear, doubt, anxiety, or whatever lies that you are facing that causes negative feelings and thought patterns. Truth sets you free and gives you proper perspective. I often blow my situation out of proportion because I have believed a lie that makes my God look little and my situation huge.

In reality, my God is big, He created everything, He knows my situation inside out. He loves me and the struggles that He allows me to go through now, will benefit me in the long run.

So my friends, when you start to get anxious and worry, remember to stand strong in the Lord and make sure your armor is on. Tighten the belt of truth, knowing you are loved by God and trust Him to faithfully navigate you through the trials you are facing now.
